With the iPhone's Sept. launch date just a couple of weeks away, iPhone 11 rumors have kicked into high gear, promising a plethora of new features and updates in this year's models.
The biggest rumors so far center around triple rear cameras for the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. The regular iPhone 11 in this scenario would replace the iPhone XR and get two rear cameras.
Other rumored features include reverse wireless charging, faster USB-C charging in the box and perhaps better shatter-resistance and water-resistance. We've also heard that Apple could offers Apple Pencil support, at least for the Pro models. But Apple is reportedly focusing the most on improved camera performance, both for still photos and for video.
iPhone 11 Latest News (Updated Aug 28th):
1. The iPhone 11 looks caught in Trump's trade war with China, but it may not cost more even with increased tariffs.
2. Apple has reportedly postponed a walkie talkie for texting feature for iPhones that would have allowed users to message other iPhones outside of cellular networks.
3. Bloomberg is reporting that there will be two iPhone 11 Pro models and they will offer a third ultra-wide camera, better video recording capabilities and more shatter-resistant designs.
4. A new report says that the iPhone 11 will have a USB-C charger in the box, though it looks like the iPhone itself will still have a Lightning connector.
5. A report out of South Korea suggests the OLED-powered iPhone 11 models will employ the same display components as the Galaxy Note 10.
It looks like Sept. 10 will be the iPhone launch date, if an iOS 13 beta slip-up is any indication.
New iPhone 11 release date (predicted)
1. iPhone launch event: Sept. 10
2. iPhone pre-order date: Sept. 13
3. iPhone on sale date: Sept. 20
Apple announced the iPhone XS, XS Max and XR on Sept. 12, 2018, but the company staggered the actual release dates for the phones. The iPhone XS and XS Max were available for preorder Sept. 14 and they went on sale Sept. 21. The iPhone XR was up for preorder Oct. 19 and hit stores Oct. 26.
If Apple follows a similar pattern for 2019, it would announce the 2019 iPhones on Sept. 10, which is a Tuesday. The handsets would likely go on preorder Sept. 13 and go on sale Sept. 20.
You can get a sense of some of the features coming to this year's iPhones in the iOS 13 beta. That's the new version of iOS that will come pre-installed on this year's iPhone, and it introduces new features like Dark Mode as well as enhancements to existing apps like Photos and Maps. The Sept. 10 iPhone launch date was tipped in the latest iOS 13 beta.
